Please join the OCDLA Board of Directors in honoring Barnes with the prestigious Ken Morrow Lifetime Achievement Award.

Barnes Ellis served 30 years on the Board of Metropolitan Public Defenders. He also served as Chair of the Public Defense Services Commission from its inception in 2000 until 2016. A magna cum laude graduate of both Yale University and Harvard Law School, Barnes was a senior partner at Stoel Rives, Portland’s largest law firm, specializing in business litigation until retiring in 2011. Since “retirement” Barnes has become general counsel for Mercy Corps, the international aid organization based in Portland, Oregon.
